A JOURNEY THROUGH ART & CULTURE
Garay Alibayov was born on 29 March 1955 in the village of Dadeli, Fuzuli, Azerbaijan.
He studied at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts from 1973 to 1977, laying the foundation for a career in film and theatre.
Garay made his film debut in Tütək səsi (The Sound of a Pipe, 1975), directed by Rasim Ojagov — the start of his acting career.
From 1990 to 1993 he served as Director of Araz Cinema, having earlier been its deputy director from 1988.
Since 2007, Garay has chaired the Cultural Development Center Public Union, shaping cultural initiatives across Azerbaijan.

A celebrated Azerbaijani writer and public figure, Camil Alibayov authored more than 40 works across a career spanning decades in journalism, radio and television. His films — including “Dədə Qorqud,” “Babək,” and “Dərviş Parisi partladır” — remain part of Azerbaijan’s cinematic heritage.
